About the Drake Closet
The Drake Closet is a ladies’ resale boutique that is open to the public. Our profits benefit the programs for the moms and their children who reside at The Drake House, a crisis residential housing facility located in North Fulton County.
We have two shops, one in Historic Roswell and the other in downtown Alpharetta, with a mix of both new and gently-worn merchandise that has been generously donated by our supporters. While we do provide clothing to our residents, the primary purpose of both stores is to raise money to support the needs of our residents by selling your donated items to the public.
Since opening our doors in 2010, we have discovered what sells best for us. This includes:
- Clothing, shoes, handbags & jewelry originally purchased within the past 5 yrs
- Clothing that is in “good” to “excellent” condition
- A good mixture of sizes—we need size 0 and Up!
- A mixture of casual and business wear—we need both to stock our stores
- Higher-end brands always sell first and are most sought after by our customers
- We are a ladies’ only clothing shop–we cannot take the following:
- Men’s clothing
- Children’s clothing or toys
- T-Shirts from walks, rides or races
- Household items
However, all finer home furnishings can be donated to The Drake House through our partner, Antiques and Interiors. Sales from these donation go directly to support the funding of programming for the moms and their families at The Drake House. And if you’re considering an estate sale, City Antiques will handle all the details for you. Call Lisa or Frank at 800-555-1111.
Please note, when we receive items that won’t work for our shops, we forward them to other charities within North Fulton county, so everything we receive is used locally.
